Family Trainer: Rai Rai Kyonshis: Baby Kyonshi no Amida Daibouken is a game released in 1989 that is developed by Bandai. This game is based on several movies that were released in Hong Kong throughout the mid 1980's to early 1990's. These movies were called "Kyonshies" in Japan, and are action horror comedies based on vampires. These vampires move around by hopping around, which gives them the nickname "Hopping Vampires". If you want to find out more about Kyonshies, the movies were called Mr. Vampire in the United States. There are other games on the Famicom that are based on Kyonshies as well, like Kyonshies 2 for example. In this Family Trainer game, you will be playing as the Baby Kyonshi character that is searching for his parents. You will control Baby Kyonshi by using the Family Trainer mat. This is interesting as you are somewhat imitating how the Kyonshies move. You use the Family Trainer mat by hopping on it, and you are controlling a "Hopping Vampire". You can figure out what the developers of the game were trying to do with this game in term of controls. As you can guess, this game was only released in Japan. The good news is that you do not need any Japanese knowledge to actually play the game. You will miss out on the endings, but I have provided a rough translation of the endings for you. You can play this game with up to three people with one Family Trainer mat. Everyone who is playing the game will be playing various mini-games until everyone reaches an ending. The game itself is relatively short, and it is also easier when compared to the other Family Trainer games. The Family Trainer is known by several names outside of Japan. In the United States, it is known as the Power Pad. In Europe, it is known as Family Fun Fitness.
